Week 1 starts by slowing things down. Many founders rush to explain their idea in complex language, hoping it sounds impressive. This week focuses on doing the opposite. Founders work on saying what they are building in a way that is simple, concrete, and honest.

The work centers on four questions: what you are building, who it is for, what problem it solves, and why that problem matters. These are not answered in one sentence or a pitch. They are explored through conversation and reflection, with the goal of making your own thinking clearer.

Founders often realize that parts of their idea are vague or assumed rather than understood. That is expected. Week 1 is designed to surface those gaps without judgment, so they can be addressed deliberately later.

By the end of the week, founders should feel more grounded in their own explanation. Not because it is perfect, but because it is clearer and easier to communicate.
