Why the problem is worth solving

Week 4 is about examining the problem itself in detail. Founders explore how the problem shows up, how often it occurs, and what people currently do to deal with it.

Rather than assuming the problem is obvious or important, founders work on understanding its real impact. This includes the cost, frustration, effort, or inefficiency it creates in someone’s life or work.

This week helps founders avoid solving problems that are interesting but not painful enough to matter. It encourages honesty about whether the problem is strong enough to justify building a company around it.

By the end of Week 4, founders should feel more confident that the problem is worth solving, or clearer that it needs to be reframed.
